Fall is officially here and we are smitten with changing colors all around us. Each year we look forward to moving from the playful colors of summer to the romantic hues leading us into the winter months. Some of our favorite client’s, Anna and Tripp, were married last weekend on the beautiful grounds of Old Glory Ranch in Wimberly, where Kellye and Andrea of Design by Sage coordinated a most beautiful and romantic wedding ceremony and reception. The bridal cake consisted of alternating tiers of Vanilla and Pure Almond cake with Vanilla Bean Butter Cream.
We get requests for a wide range of bridal sugar flowers for wedding cakes, however one of the most popular requests is for sugar hydrangeas. These versatile flowers are unique in the they come in so many colors and can either be the star of the show or simply used for added texture. The olive double face satin ribbon on the cake matched perfectly with the ivory and green toile table linens, and the candlelight framing both sides of the cake glowed with romance. We thank Stella Alesi for these lovely photographs.

We loved this wedding! The images are from the Greenspan/Manlove July wedding at the Texas Women’s Federation courtesy of Nichols Photography. This four tier ivory wedding cake used lace details to match the bride’s beautiful gown and sugar flowers in white and peach tying into her floral theme. The bride chose our pure almond cake with vanilla bean butter cream to be served with a scoop of peach ice cream that was her grandmother’s recipe. What a fabulous personal touch. Congratulations to this happy couple!

Ooh-lala! Pink inspired weddings are so much fun and always a classic. Whether with pastels or bright colors, pink sets the tone for a romantic occasion. We think this cake is lovely in a ballroom or garden setting.
Much thanks to Studio 563 for these terrific images.
