Texas Women’s Federation Wedding

Texas Peach Inspired Four Tier Wedding Cake with Handmade Sugar Flowers

Peach Garden Roses and White Peony Sugar Flowers

We loved this wedding!  The images are from the Greenspan/Manlove July wedding at the Texas Women’s Federation courtesy of Nichols Photography.  This four tier ivory wedding cake used lace details to match the bride’s beautiful gown and sugar flowers in white and peach tying into her floral theme.  The bride chose our pure almond cake with vanilla bean butter cream to be served with a scoop of peach ice cream that was her grandmother’s recipe.  What a fabulous personal touch.  Congratulations to this happy couple!

Pink and White Roses, Hydrangeas, Peonies, and Orchids

Ooh-lala!  Pink inspired weddings are so much fun and always a classic.  Whether with pastels or bright colors, pink sets the tone for a romantic occasion.  We think this cake is lovely in a ballroom or garden setting.

Vive Le Macaron!

Stardust Pastry Macaroons

Le Macaron!

The French have given us many things….Chanel, Champagne, beautiful cinema….and one of our favorite French culinary creations is the macaron, or as we say ‘macaroon’.  This is an undeniably chic, petit cookie.   Suzi at Q Wedding Photography worked with us to create this beautiful photo gallery and just in time to celebrate Bastille day!  We are so pleased to work with this talented Austin photographer!

Macaroon Filled Cloche

White Chocolate Blueberry, Valrhona Chocolate, and Meyer Lemon Macaroons

Rich, chewy, crunchy, sweet!  These are all words synonymous with the Macaroon.  The texture is distinct and its flavor can vary.  Our favorite flavors include Milk Chocolate Passion Fruit, Cocoa Nib, Japanese Green Tea, Wild Strawberry, Cherry Blossom,  and White Truffle.  These flavors can be varied from the type of occasion to the time of the season. J’adore!

Vintage White Dessert Bar

Vintage White Dessert Bar

Vintage White Dessert Bar

We designed this dessert bar for an all white wedding.  Incorporating vintage French cloches, ‘old world’ crystal platters, and antique serving trays this dessert bar fit perfectly within the design elements of our bride’s wedding theme.  The backdrop consisted of floating hand strung crystals and white double satin fabric.

Playing off of the bride’s wedding gown her bridal cake includes the use of a delicate lace pattern to match her dress.  The handmade sugar flowers mimicked her bouquet by using all white peonies and white garden roses.  The rest of the dessert bar was filled with goodies for guests to enjoy including white chocolate blackberry mousse shots, mini vanilla bean éclairs, sugar cookies with pearlized fern imprints, Meyer lemon tartlets with caramelized meringue, and pure almond baby cakes with vanilla bean cream.  Guests were encouraged to take away white Jordan Almonds, silver dragees, and pearl malt chocolates in personalized bags as wedding favors.  The expression on the guest’s faces were priceless!

These terrific photographs are provided by Austin photographer Eric Hegwer.  We would like to thank Eric not only for these great photographs but for generously devoting his time and knowledge recently to helping us  launch our blog.  We also want to take this opportunity to give a big thank you to the fantastic Austin web designer Dean Nixon for the creation of our website which has been instrumental in our success over the last 2 years.   Another big thanks to Vignette Photography for the excellent photos seen on our main website.

We have more photos below that highlight vaious aspectes of this Vintage White Dessert Bar.

Handmade Sugar Flowers and Lace Aplique

Handmade Roses and Peonies with Crystal Studded Lace Applique

This four tier fondant exterior bridal cake featured handmade sugar roses and peonies to match the bride’s floral arrangment and gown.  Other features of the design are the crystal studded lace applique that has been painted mother of pearl and double face satin ribbon.

Vintage White Dessert Bar Sugar Cookies

These pearlized white sugar cookies with the fern imprint bring a refined touch to a familiar dessert that will please all ages and palates.

White Chocolate Blackberry Mousse Shots

White Chocolate Blackberry Mousse Shots

Mousse shots are always popular and white chocolate blackberry is what you see here.  The light texture of the mousse combined with the richness of the blackberry make this dessert a big favorite.  The small shot glass and miniature spoon allow the guest to indulge at their leisure and still have room to enjoy the other dessert goodies!

Meyer Lemon Tarts

Meyer Lemon Tarts

These lemon tarts are delicious and always a favorite due to the distintive lemon flavor that does not overpower.  Because the lemon infusion is delicate and consistent the tart is able to maintain a gentle sweetness that allows the delicate pastry to hold its own rich flavor without being too sweet or too tart.  Also seen in this picutre are the  mini vanilla bean éclairs and fresh rasberries.  One of the key ‘ingredients’ to a successfull dessert bar is maintaining the balance of creativity, adventure, and familiarity so each guest can find  more than one item that pleases their tastes and satisfies their curiosity.
